Second Life for Furniture
In terms of environmental protection, we have introduced reverse vending machines in Hong Kong IKEA stores, customers can bring the cleaned recyclables to stores for recycling. Also, we have collaborated with Hong Kong’s second-hand online marketplace to build a limited-edition IKEA microsite, where a collection of display items and discontinued models can be found at discounted prices. It provides consumers with alternative options when shopping for new furniture while giving these functioning used products in good condition a second life and reducing waste.Learn more about Second Life for Furniture.
IKEA Light Up Hope
In terms of caring for people, we helped redesign the space of two NGOs in Macau, Good Shepherd Sisters and Fountain of Hope in 2021 and 2022. We join forces with the local charitable organization A Plastic Ocean Foundation to organize the Light Up Hope programme to help improve the living conditions of families, which have long been suffering from natural disasters and energy poverty.Learn more about IKEA Light Up Hope
