          IKEA Hong Kong partnered with Vital Employee Service Consultancy to offer an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for its employees, who are IKEA’s most valuable assets. Upon joining the company, an employee will receive a Hong Kong EAP card that allows access to professional, confidential, and voluntary consultation services.

          The main purpose of the EAP is to offer professional counseling services to all members of the IKEA team and their immediate family members (spouses and children below 18 years of age). These services aim to support them in handling stress and anxiety as a result of work, family, or personal problems. Vital Employee Service Consultancy is Hong Kong’s largest provider of employee assistance programs. It offers diverse counseling and consultation services related to stress and emotional management, interpersonal relationships, career development, marriage counseling, parenting techniques, and other psychological well-being topics.

         All conversations and messages are kept confidential to respect the privacy of IKEA’s employees. A 0800 toll-free hotline and an email address are also set up for professional counselors to lend their ears to the employees. IKEA employees can make use of the services offered by the EAP to speak to counselors, figure things out, and prevent and resolve issues related to their work, families, peers, and personal lives. In conclusion, the EAP helps employees to achieve work-life balance so they can dedicate themselves to their work with a healthy mind and body.
